In these stressful economic times it is ever more important to help young British talent who are trying to forge careers in the music industry. Increased tuition fees leaves graduates in debt by £20,000, often £30,000 after postgraduate training, forcing many young musicians to live in poverty, sometimes with no alternative than to permanently leave a career they had dreamed of and worked for since childhood.
As a newly established charity we are not in the position yet to help enhance the aspirations of these young musicians, so the emphasis for 2012-2013 must be on fund raising through donations, legacies and the eight exciting concerts featuring many international artists who have waived their fees for today’s talented students, tomorrow’s outstanding young performers.
